We secured an entire allocation of OGDEN PINOT NOIR RIO DEL MAR 2022, and we're still not quite sure how we pulled it off. This tiny Santa Cruz Mountains producer makes barely enough wine to fill a decent-sized cellar, let alone share with the rest of us. When we heard there were cases going spare, we didn't hesitate. Quietly, quickly, the lot was ours. ​ Jonny first stumbled upon Ogden on a blustery October morning, standing in the vineyard itself, fog rolling in off the Pacific like something out of a film. He'd driven down from San Francisco at dawn, chasing a tip about a winemaker doing something special with cool-climate fruit. ​ The vines were barely visible through the marine layer, but the wine was crystal clear: silky, bright, impossibly lifted. He bought what he could carry and spent the drive back wondering why this place wasn't on everyone's radar yet. Consider this your heads-up. ​ Pour it and you're met with crushed wild strawberry, Rainier cherry, dried rose petals, and a whisper of forest floor that lingers beautifully.
