Planted way back in 1888, these ancient, gnarly vines are basically the "Old Guard" of Sonoma Valley, surviving over a century to bring us this concentrated liquid gold. If you like your reds with some serious backbone and a bit of history in every sip, this 2017 Limerick Lane is your new best friend. It’s spent some quality time lounging in French oak, which rounds out those spicy Zinfandel edges into a polished, velvety dream. Think exploding brambly blackberries, sun-warmed plums, and a dash of cracked black pepper. There’s a beautiful savoury streak of anise and dried sage that keeps things complex, finishing with a hint of vanilla bean from that gorgeous oak integration. It’s big, it’s bold, and it’s unapologetically Sonoma! Bedrock is one of the few "Heritage" vineyards left, a true field blend of history. At a price this good, it’s basically a miracle.
