In a cellar of brooding, Right Bank-inspired reds, the 2024 Dissonance is the Paul McCartney solo track that unexpectedly steals the show. It’s the "Blackbird" singing in the dead of night...an intentional, beautiful clash that resolves the record into a masterpiece. ​ While the rest of the flock focuses on heavy bass notes, Dissonance is the bright, electric counterpoint. For this vintage, winemaker Aaron Pott has gone "unplugged," letting the wine fly solo as 100% Sauvignon Blanc for the first time. ​ To achieve that velvety, "Walrus"-thick texture without losing the high-pitched treble of the fruit, the wine underwent a bit of a studio experiment. It was aged in a trio of vessels: French oak for a rhythmic backbone, clay amphorae for earthy percussion, and stainless steel to keep the citrus notes crisp. The result is a multi-layered production swirling with lemon curd, white peach, and a salty, flinty finish that lingers like the final chord at Abbey Road. ​ While Merlot translates to "Little Blackbird," this Sauvignon Blanc is the one that truly knows how to fly.
