Beau Vigne was founded by Ed and Alice Snider in 2002, originally centered around their estate on Atlas Peak. The brand underwent a significant "rebirth" recently under new ownership and the creative direction of Julien Fayard, a celebrated "cult" winemaker who honed his craft at Bordeaux's Château Lafite Rothschild. Fayard has shifted the winemaking toward a style that balances Napa’s opulence with classical French structure.
While not having a singular corporate slogan, the brand’s identity is built on the "Romeo & Juliet" narrative—a star-crossed duo of wines that showcase the two faces of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The blend is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, with "equal dollops" (3% each) of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah. Aged for 20 to 21 months for in French oak.
The 2021 Juliet is a high-toned, floral Cabernet, balancing wild sage and lavender aromas with deep black cherry. The palate is rich and vibrant, featuring blackberry and espresso notes. While silky and fine-grained, its muscular structure ensures impressive longevity, making it a cellar-worthy selection best enjoyed from 2028 to 2038.
Pair this wine with a rosemary-crusted rack of lamb or a classic ribeye steak to allow the wine's acidity and tannins to cut through the rich fats.
